New Year's Resolutions Statistics of 2013

With the start of a new year, we reflect on our lives with a renewed motivation to make a change. Whether it is to lose those last 10 pounds, quit smoking, balance work/life, or save money, we all have good intentions but very few end up following through with their resolutions.

Here are the statistics:

  • 62% of people make New Year's Resolutions
  • 8% are successful
  • 19% achieve resolutions every other year
  • 49% have infrequent success
  • 24% NEVER succeed and have failed on EVERY resolution EVERY year!         (That’s 1 in 4 people who fail each and every time they make a resolution!)

The most popular New Year’s resolutions for 2013:

1. Save more money – 31%

2. Get out of debt – 22%

3. Get fit/lose weight – 18%

4. Change job/career – 16%

5. Quite smoking – 13%

My tip:  Write down your resolutions/goals and you will have a greater chance at following through with them!

Good luck!
